ABOUT ME

I have not always been into fitness. In fact, I would shudder at the thought of PE at school or any form of organised sport! I had intense fear of the pressure of team games and little confidence in my physical ability.

In my teens I discovered the gym and running. I found out I could enjoy being active without being ‘sporty’ and I enjoyed dance classes just for FUN and not for competition!

I started using weights and resistance machines with more intention in my early 20s after wanting to shape my body in a way that running couldn’t do, and I found I really enjoyed the feeling of getting stronger and seeing positive changes in my body and mind.

I now train for strength and longevity and to challenge myself. I am a proud member of Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue as an On-Call Firefighter and this is another motivation to maintain strength and fitness (and avoid injury!)

The fact that I have gone from exercise and fitness-phobic, to full-on enthusiast and Personal Trainer means I can truly appreciate that when it comes to fitness and exercise, we are all very different, and all need to find something which works for US as individuals. Plus –  If you enjoy it,  you’ll stick at it!
